A BIT ABOUT US
With the closure of the last Christian bookshop in Chatham,
research showed that the Medway area still needed a
Christian missional presence on the High street.
So the Baobab Centre and Bookshop was established in 2017 with a mission to serve the community by spreading the Gospel and promoting Spiritual well-being.
We love that we can pray, praise, and worship with our customers, as well as provide Christian resources, faith based activities and services to anyone who is interested.
MY LEAP OF FAITH
From CLC to BAOBAB. Its been an exciting, challenging, rewarding and fulfilling year.
Last year I was informed that CLC Bookshop, Chatham would close after 73 years. As sad and upset as I was, I decided to attempt something so bold - become a "water walker" and chose to jump out of a plane. Crazy? Foolish? Certainly Not stupid but here I am attempting something that scared the life out of me. I called it Jump for Jesus. It was my leap of faith skydive in November 2016. I told myself if I could be brave enough to jump out of a plane at 12,000ft - willingly!!! Then anything God asked of me I would be obedient to trust that He will see me through whatever it was.
My full name IFEANYICHUKWU means "Nothing is impossible with God" so what was I so afraid of? I can do this. And I did, with God's help I did. On the 3rd of November 2016, I made the jump. FAITH-TRUST-OBEY that's all I need know in this journey. And If I wasnt sure - He sent me enough people to make me realise that He had an amazing plan for me. So here I am one year later. The vision to have a community space is slowly evolving and growing and we are in this beautiful space. I am so privileged to be part of HIS plan for Medway.
I've met so many amazing people and their testimonies and prayers have encouraged me throughout this past year.
Thanks v much to EVERYONE who has seen me through this past year, for all your help, for your patronage since I opened Baobab and for your continuous encouragement and support. Looking back I'm sure glad I allowed Jesus to take the wheel and be in the driver's seat.
Thank you Abba Father
Lastly four of my favourite scripture verses that the Holy Spirit revealed to me; which I want to share with you.
